Grade 2

Kristine McGrath joined Pine Cobble School in 2000, fresh out of college. After two years of teaching first grade she became the second-grade teacher, a role she has relished ever since. A veritable people person, she is drawn to Pine Cobble for the “flexibility it ensures to bring my craft–the teaching craft—to life and bring magic to it, and to allow each kid the freedom to explore their interests. So too, each student has the social time to practice their character pillars and build their emotional intelligence, to learn how to be a kind and respectful member of the group.” Kristine has a BS in education and social work from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

A self-professed people person, Kristine is a native of North Adams and lives there today, with her husband, Sean, with whom she has two children who both attended Pine Cobble—Kayla, in college; and Megan, in high school. When not walking their dog, Scout, she is her kids’ number one sports fan at soccer and basketball games.
