Dan Weissbrodt is an integral part of the arts and community team at Pine Cobble School. A former award‐winning television, film, and theater performer, puppeteer, voice actor, and arts fabricator, he has received accolades for his work with such organizations as the Walt Disney Company, the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and the Moscow Ballet. His experience brought him to design and build all of the puppet, mask, and character elements for the Moscow Ballet’s The Nutcracker. He was also tasked with teaching character movement and character choreography for The Nutcracker. More recently, his talents were showcased as a master of puppetry arts for Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney Cruise Lines. He was also responsible for show quality throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.
Dan is currently serving a five-year term on the North Adams Public Arts Commission and a multiyear term on the board of the North Adams Cultural District.
Weissbrodt also has an extensive background in decorating, design, and arts fabrication, as well as in managing crews and artists. His project design and management highlights include the Fêtes de Noël in New York City’s Bryant Park, award‐winning Christmas windows (including the Macy’s and Lord & Taylor displays), and numerous domestic and international productions. He views himself as a perennial teacher and student. While his work has taken him around the globe, Weissbrodt is currently living in the artist enclave of North Adams, Massachusetts.
