Cynthia Quiñones

Cynthia Quiñones has been on the Pine Cobble faculty since 2017, and is today in the roles of KidLit Ambassador, librarian, and theater director. She also writes and produces Pine Cobble’s major publications, including The Cobblestone and Giving Matters. She loves the fact that her many hats enable her to be at the heart of “the creative collaboration with faculty and students and to witness the tremendous support of the wider community.” In the teaching profession since 2002, Cynthia was previously chair of the English department at Pittsfield High School and taught at Wahconah High School, and was director of education for the Barrington Stage Company, where she was also an artistic mentor for its Playwright Mentoring Project.
Born and raised in North Adams, Massachusetts, Cynthia is proud to be a Pine Cobble alumna. She went on to earn a BA in English/creative writing from George Washington University, an MFA in poetry from Warren Wilson College, and a teaching certificate from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. She was a volunteer and board member of Word Street, a drop in writing center in Pittsfield; served as the facilitator for Teen Writing Workshop run by the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition; and was an Americorps Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. A published poet and an avid hiker, she lives in North Adams with her husband and fellow Pine Cobble faculty member, Michael Quiñones; their two daughters, Annabelle and Sylvie; and their old cat, Thomasina, who holds down the fort at home while the rest of the family is at Pine Cobble each day.
